The Bill Johnson Band Victoria native Bill Johnson began playing guitar before he was ten years old, and was gigging as a regular on the Victoria scene at only 17. Raised in a supportive family on a healthy diet of Hank Williams, "rock'n roll", and his brother's Blues collection, he has honed his chops and now plays with such class, style and authority. He has been dubbed " Victoria's Blues Guitar Flame Thrower" by the Times Colonist. Whether it's a Delta Blues in "open D" or a slinky west coast electric jump, this cat gets 'em hoppin'! He has opened for Blues giants Otis Rush and Delbert McClinton! Following last year's Hornby Blues Odysee, he joined "Slim" Harris, Keith Bennett, Dawn Tyler Watson and David Gogo's Band at the Queens Hotel, for an evening that has not been topped! You can find Bill Johnson, along with Gary Preston on Harp and Keyboards, Paul Nixon on Skins, and Rick Erikson on Bass, tearing it up at "The Swan" or "The Central Bar and Grill" in Victoria and at the Harewood Arms in Nanaimo! |
